Despite the heavy rains and storms of recent weeks, the postponed Stonecutters interclub event was definitely “on” last Wednesday, 15 March.

Craig Scott and the ground staff did a fantastic job to ensure the course was playable, and to everyone’s surprise, the weather turned out fine and sunny and we all had a pleasant ‘stroll in the park’.

While scoring was tough with minimal carry and drying out greens, some good scores were posted with Phillip Tunchon (40) leading the way. Indeed Penrith won the teams event, with Phillip Tunchon, Tel Rogers, Robert Procter and Ian Forrester narrow winners from the Dunheved and Richmond teams.

The full field of 144 players beat the impending afternoon storms by exiting early or enjoying the delights of the Stonecutters Ridge Clubhouse.

WSRVGA host the State Strokeplay Championships on 10-11-12 April and the next interclub event is at Dunheved on Tues 9 May.
